Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their team in Birmingham , contributing to the protection of critical digital assets. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain various security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM and other security tools, investigating potential breaches and anomalies.
• Perform regular security patching and updates for all security infrastructure components.
• Develop and document security engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of new security technologies and solutions.
• Participate in security incident response activities, providing technical expertise and support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT security engineering or related role.
• Hands-on experience with network security devices (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto) and security protocols.
• Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and security monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and common attack vectors.
