Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their expanding security operations center, operating on a fully remote basis. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions that protect the organization's infrastructure and data from cyber threats. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and contributing to the overall security posture of the company. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
• Monitor network traffic and system logs for security threats and anomalies, escalating issues as needed.
• Participate in security incident response activities, including forensic analysis and remediation efforts.
• Automate security tasks and processes using scripting languages to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure secure configurations and deployments of systems and applications.
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in information security engineering or a similar technical security role.
• Proficiency in network security concepts and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching).
• Experience with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
• Understanding of security compliance standards and frameworks.
