Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Southampton . This role is crucial for developing and executing comprehensive security strategies that protect the organization's valuable information assets. You will oversee the implementation of security controls, manage risk, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, and the ability to manage a team effectively in a hybrid work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's information security program, including policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee risk management processes, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks.
• Manage and mentor the information security team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Lead security incident response activities, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of security breaches.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to integrate security considerations into all aspects of operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing information security programs and policies.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
