Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives from their base in Milton Keynes . This leadership role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategic direction, and operational execution of the information security program. You will manage a team of security professionals, oversee risk management, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion security best practices throughout the organisation. This is a critical position for an individual with strong leadership qualities and a deep understanding of information security principles to protect the company's valuable assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce the company's information security strategy and policies.
• Lead and manage the information security team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
• Oversee risk assessments, vulnerability management programs, and incident response planning.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual security requirements.
• Manage security budgets and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective security solutions.
• Promote a strong security culture through awareness programs and training initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing information security programs and teams, with at least 7 years in the field.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF), and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, and incident response.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
