Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives from their Newcastle upon Tyne office. This critical role involves overseeing the development and execution of comprehensive security strategies to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance. You will manage a team of security professionals, foster a security-conscious culture, and liaise with stakeholders across the business to embed security into all operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's overall information security strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering their professional growth and performance.
• Oversee the management of security risks, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Manage the security budget, vendor relationships, and the procurement of security technologies.
• Conduct regular security awareness training for employees and advise senior management on security matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in information security management , with a proven track record of leading security programs.
• Deep understanding of security frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing security operations centers (SOC) and incident response teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
