Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's overall information security program. You will be instrumental in protecting critical data assets, managing security risks, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, fostering a security-conscious culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for information security across the organization.
• Manage and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering their growth and development.
• Oversee the implementation and operation of security technologies and controls.
• Lead the incident response process, ensuring prompt and effective containment and recovery from security breaches.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with senior management and other stakeholders to communicate security posture and initiatives effectively.

Requirements

• Significant experience in information security, with a substantial portion in a managerial or leadership capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of information security principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Strong understanding of risk management, threat intelligence, and incident response planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
