Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives from their Newcastle upon Tyne office. This senior leadership position is responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing the entire information security program, ensuring the protection of all company data and systems. You will manage a team of security professionals, develop security roadmaps, and work closely with executive leadership to align security strategies with business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals and risk tolerance.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of information security professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and expertise.
• Oversee the implementation and management of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and data loss prevention tools.
• Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Manage security incident response activities, including investigation, remediation, and post-incident analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the effectiveness of security controls.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective security programs and policies.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and incident response methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
