Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Birmingham . This senior leadership position is responsible for developing and executing the company's overall information security strategy, ensuring the protection of critical business assets against a wide range of cyber threats. You will manage a dedicated team of security professionals, oversee security operations, and foster a strong security-aware culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and enforce comprehensive information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Oversee the management of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Develop and manage the information security budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Oversee incident response planning and execution, conducting post-incident reviews and implementing preventative measures.
• Ensure the organization's compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience (7+ years) in information security management and leadership roles.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and threat landscapes.
• Demonstrated experience in managing security operations, risk assessments, and incident response.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud security architectures and practices.
