Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant Information Security Officer to join their team based in Cardiff . This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and security of the company's information assets. You will play a key role in enforcing security policies and procedures, ensuring that all systems and data are protected against unauthorized access and cyber threats. Working predominantly from our Cardiff office, you will collaborate closely with IT and departmental heads to implement and manage robust security measures, fostering a secure working environment for all employees and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies and procedures across the organization.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Manage and monitor security systems, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide security awareness training to employees to foster a culture of security consciousness.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an information security or IT security role.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, best practices, and common cyber threats.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM , vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
• Familiarity with relevant data protection laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff.
