About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Information Security Officer to oversee and manage their security operations from their Norwich office. This is a critical role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive information security program. You will be instrumental in safeguarding sensitive data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting the organization against cyber threats. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of security best practices, and the ability to translate complex security requirements into actionable plans. You will work closely with senior management and IT teams to champion security initiatives and foster a security-conscious culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the organization's information security program .
- Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across all departments.
- Oversee risk management activities, including threat assessments and vulnerability management.
- Lead incident response efforts and develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection Act).
- Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are essential.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security management or a senior security role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise-wide security strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in managing security teams and projects effectively.
