Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Information Security Officer to join their team in Edinburgh . This hybrid role is essential for maintaining and enhancing the organization's security protocols and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day security operations, managing risks, and implementing security measures to protect company assets. Working closely with IT and other departments, you will play a crucial part in fostering a security-aware culture and responding effectively to any security incidents that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage information security controls and measures across the organization.
• Monitor security systems and networks for potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and maintain the company's data protection policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security awareness training for employees.
• Manage and coordinate the response to security incidents, ensuring minimal disruption.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in an Information Security or IT security role.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001).
• Experience with security monitoring tools and vulnerability management.
• Understanding of network security principles and data privacy regulations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
