Information Security Operations Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Information Security Operations Lead to head their Security Operations Center (SOC) in Oxford . This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing daily security operations, managing a team of security analysts, and ensuring the effective detection, investigation, and response to cyber threats. You will play a critical part in protecting the organization's assets by implementing robust operational security measures and driving continuous improvement in SOC capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) team, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Oversee the monitoring of security alerts, incident detection, and initial response activities.
• Develop and refine SOC processes, playbooks, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage and optimize the effectiveness of security monitoring tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.
• Coordinate with incident response teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
• Report on SOC performance metrics, threat landscape trends, and key security operational activities to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in information security operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proven expertise in managing SOC environments, threat detection, and incident response processes.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, tools, and technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC certifications are highly desirable.
