Infrastructure Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Design Engineer to join their consultancy based in Reading . This role focuses on the design of essential infrastructure, including roads, drainage, and utilities, for a variety of development projects. You will play a key role in translating client requirements and planning conditions into practical, sustainable engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and detail roads, pavements, drainage systems, and utility layouts for residential and commercial developments.
• Conduct Section 38, Section 104, and Section 278 agreement applications and designs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with industry standards.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines, including structural, architectural, and environmental teams.
• Undertake site visits to verify existing conditions and support construction phases as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ideally MicroDrainage or similar drainage software.
• Strong understanding of UK design standards, building regulations, and planning policy related to infrastructure.
• Experience in liaising with statutory undertakers and local authorities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, essential for hybrid working and project collaboration in Reading .
