About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Infrastructure Design Engineer to join their innovative team in the historic city of Cambridge . This role is central to designing the essential infrastructure components for exciting new developments, including residential, commercial, and educational facilities. You will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering designs for roads, drainage, and utilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop infrastructure solutions, including roads, sewers, surface water management, and utility systems.
- Produce detailed technical drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical reviews.
- Coordinate design interfaces with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, and MEP engineers.
- Ensure designs adhere to current UK standards, Building Regulations, and planning requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, design statements, and assist with planning applications.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in infrastructure design, ideally within a consultancy.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage).
- Good understanding of SuDS principles, highway design, and utility coordination.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities within a project team.
