We provide advanced and reliable Fire Detection, Disabled Refuge, Intruder Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems across a wide range of industries and sectors. We are currently looking for an experienced Installation & Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding team.
Role Overview:
As an Installation & Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, testing, and handing over fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems. You'll work closely with project managers and other installation teams to ensure systems are fully operational, fully compliant with British Standards, and signed off to the client's satisfaction. Previous installation and commissioning experience is essential, along with relevant industry qualifications.
A full UK Driving License is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, commission and test fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems in line with design specifications and British Standards.
- Carry out first and second fix installation work, including containment, cabling, and equipment fitting.
- Carry out full system testing, fault diagnosis, and rectification prior to client handover.
- Liaise with project managers, other engineers, and clients to resolve technical issues on site.
- Produce accurate installation and commissioning certificates, test sheets, and as-fitted documentation.
- Provide system handover training and support to end users.
- Carry out site surveys and pre-installation checks to identify potential issues ahead of schedule.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines and industry regulations.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience installing and commissioning fire and/or security systems (fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms).
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. FIA, SSTS, IPAF, PASMA).
- Strong working knowledge of British Standards relevant to fire and security systems.
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising directly with clients and engineers.
- Good understanding of electrical systems and wiring diagrams.
- A full UK driving license.
