Insurance Actuary

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and qualified Insurance Actuary to join their team in Sheffield . You will play a critical role in assessing financial risks, pricing insurance products, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the company. Your responsibilities will include developing and validating actuarial models, conducting financial projections, and providing expert advice on reserving, capital management, and product strategy. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial projections.
• Analyze large datasets to assess risk and forecast future financial outcomes.
• Provide actuarial input for the development and pricing of new insurance products.
• Calculate and set appropriate reserves for claims and liabilities.
• Ensure compliance with all actuarial standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments, including finance, underwriting, and risk management, to provide actuarial insights.
• Present complex actuarial findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements

• Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary with a recognized actuarial body (e.g., Institute and Faculty of Actuaries).
• Strong mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.
• Experience with actuarial modeling software and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, VBA).
• In-depth understanding of insurance products, risk management, and financial reporting.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
