About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Handler to join their busy office-based team in Bradford . This crucial role involves managing a portfolio of insurance claims from initial notification through to settlement. You will be the primary point of contact for policyholders, providing clear guidance, investigating claims thoroughly, and ensuring timely and fair resolutions. Working within a collaborative team environment, you will leverage your understanding of insurance policies and procedures to deliver an exceptional claims service. Key Responsibilities

• Receive, record, and acknowledge new insurance claims promptly and accurately.
• Investigate claims by gathering relevant information, including policy details, incident reports, and supporting documentation.
• Assess liability and coverage in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, witnesses, and third parties throughout the claims process.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and/or their representatives where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims activity on the company's claims management system.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Insurance Claims Handler or in a similar claims processing role.
• Good understanding of general insurance principles and policy types.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
• Proficiency in using computer systems, including standard office software.
• Familiarity with claims management software is an advantage.
