Insurance Claims Handler

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Insurance Claims Handler to join their supportive team in Brighton . This role is responsible for managing general insurance claims efficiently and effectively, from the point of notification through to settlement. You will liaise with policyholders, assess claim validity, determine liability, and process payments in accordance with policy terms and company procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills, a meticulous approach to detail, and a solid understanding of the claims handling process within the insurance sector , contributing to a positive customer experience during challenging times.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, record, and manage insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
• Investigate claims by gathering information, interviewing parties involved, and reviewing documentation.
• Assess liability and coverage based on policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate with claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties in a clear and professional manner.
• Process claims settlements and payments accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Identify and report any potential fraudulent claims to the appropriate department.

Requirements

• Previous experience in claims handling or a customer service role within the insurance industry .
• Good understanding of insurance policies and claims procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
• Proficiency in using claims management systems and standard office software.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a caseload efficiently.
