About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and organised Insurance Claims Handler to join their team in Brighton . This role is essential for providing excellent customer service and ensuring efficient processing of insurance claims. You will manage claims from notification through to settlement, maintaining clear communication with policyholders and third parties. Key Responsibilities

• Receive and record new insurance claims accurately in the system.
• Assess claims for validity and ensure compliance with policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, and third parties throughout the claims process.
• Gather necessary documentation and evidence to support claim assessments.
• Appoint and manage external suppliers (e.g., loss adjusters, repair networks) where required.
• Process claim payments and authorize settlements within agreed authority limits.

Requirements

• Previous experience in insurance claims handling or a similar administrative role.
• Good understanding of insurance principles and claims processes.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using claims management software and standard office applications.
