About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Insurance Operations Manager to lead their operational functions in Sheffield . This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of insurance services, overseeing day-to-day operations, and driving process improvements across various departments including underwriting support, claims processing, and customer service. You will be responsible for managing a team, optimising workflows, and implementing strategies to enhance operational performance, customer satisfaction, and cost-efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of insurance operations within the South Yorkshire business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the insurance department, ensuring smooth service delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operational staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, reporting on performance to senior management.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline inter-departmental workflows and resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• Significant experience (5+ years) in operations management, ideally within the insurance industry .
• Proven track record of managing teams and driving operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of insurance processes, including underwriting, claims, and customer service.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with process optimisation methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
• Proficiency in operational management software and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
