About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded firm in the innovation hub of Cambridge , is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Solicitor to join their specialist team. This role focuses on advising clients, many of whom are leaders in technology and life sciences, on the protection, enforcement, and commercialisation of their IP assets. You will manage a varied caseload, covering patents, trademarks, copyright, and designs, working closely with inventors, research institutions, and businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge legal work in a thriving scientific and technological region, based in Cambridge .

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad spectrum of intellectual property law , including patents, trademarks, copyright, and designs.
• Assist with the drafting and negotiation of IP-related agreements, such as licensing, collaboration, and R&D agreements.
• Handle IP disputes and litigation, including infringement claims and validity challenges.
• Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
• Develop and implement IP strategies for clients, advising on portfolio management.
• Stay abreast of developments in IP law and technology trends relevant to the Cambridge ecosystem.

Requirements

• A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' experience in intellectual property law .
• Strong knowledge of UK and international IP legislation and practice.
• Experience in IP litigation and dispute resolution is essential.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for IP contracts.
• Ability to understand and advise on complex technical concepts.
• Strong client management and communication skills, ideally with an interest in technology or life sciences, relevant to Cambridge .
