Intellectual Property Solicitor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Intellectual Property Solicitor to join their innovative legal team in Norwich . This role is central to advising clients on the creation, protection, and commercialisation of their intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs. You will manage a diverse caseload of IP-related matters, working closely with businesses to safeguard their innovations and brands. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of IP law and a passion for technology and creative industries, contributing to the firm's expertise in this specialist area within Norfolk .

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on trademark registration, clearance, and opposition proceedings.
• Manage copyright and design protection strategies for clients.
• Draft and negotiate intellectual property licences, assignments, and collaboration agreements.
• Provide legal counsel on IP-related aspects of commercial transactions, such as M&A and joint ventures.
• Assist in the enforcement of IP rights and the defence against infringement claims.
• Stay informed about developments in intellectual property law and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' experience in intellectual property law .
• Proven expertise in trademark, copyright, and/or patent law.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating IP agreements.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide practical, commercial advice.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.
