About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Solicitor to join their innovative legal team in Derby . This role involves advising clients on the protection, exploitation, and enforcement of their intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, copyright, and designs. You will work with a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to established businesses, across various industries. Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on intellectual property strategy , including registration and portfolio management.
• Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements, such as licenses, assignments, and NDAs.
• Handle IP disputes, including infringement actions and passing off claims.
• Conduct IP due diligence for corporate transactions and commercial agreements.
• Advise on brand protection, online IP issues, and counterfeit prevention.
• Stay updated on developments in IP law and technology to provide proactive counsel.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' experience in intellectual property law .
• Demonstrated expertise in IP advisory work, contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Strong understanding of patent, trademark, copyright, and design law.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage client relationships and deliver commercially focused advice.
• Experience with IP management software and virtual legal tools is a plus.
