Internal Technical Sales – Electrical & Automation

Internal Technical Sales – Electrical & Automation

Aldershot, Hampshire | £35,000–£40,000 + Annual Profit Share

Full Time | Permanent | Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

Are you an experienced electrical sales professional with strong industry knowledge and established customer relationships? Would you welcome the opportunity to put that experience to greater use and play a key role in developing a growing area of an established business?

We're working with a successful technical distributor in Aldershot that is looking to expand its industrial electrical and automation offering.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right technical expertise, industry contacts and commercial drive to take ownership of a developing product area, generate new business and help shape its future.

You'll have considerable autonomy to develop customer relationships, identify opportunities and influence how this area grows, with the backing of an experienced team and an attractive annual profit share scheme.

About the Business

Our client is a well-established technical distributor specialising in building controls, HVAC and mechanical products, supplying customers across a range of commercial and industrial applications.

The business has enjoyed sustained growth and developed a strong reputation for its technical expertise, customer service and long-standing industry relationships.

With many of its existing customers also purchasing industrial electrical and automation products, the business has identified a significant opportunity to expand its offering into this market.

This appointment will play an important role in developing that opportunity, combining the resources and customer base of an established distributor with the freedom to build and grow a new area of the business.

The Role

As Internal Technical Sales, you'll play a key role in developing the business's industrial electrical and automation offering, with a particular focus on switchgear, control panel components and associated products.

Working alongside an experienced team, you'll use your existing industry knowledge and customer relationships to generate enquiries, secure new business and establish a strong presence within this market.

Your responsibilities will include:

*

Developing sales of industrial electrical, automation and control panel products to existing and new customers.

*

Building and maintaining relationships with systems integrators, panel builders and other industrial customers.

*

Using your industry contacts and commercial knowledge to identify opportunities, generate new business and develop long-term accounts.

*

Providing technical advice and commercial support on product selection, quotations, tenders and customer requirements.

*

Helping develop the electrical product offering, including identifying suitable stock ranges, manufacturers and supplier opportunities.

*

Working closely with colleagues to maximise opportunities within the existing customer base and support the continued growth of the business.

About You

We're looking for someone with a strong background in industrial electrical distribution or automation sales who can combine technical expertise with the commercial ability to develop business and build lasting customer relationships.

You'll ideally have an established network of industry contacts and the confidence to use your knowledge and relationships to generate opportunities, rather than simply responding to existing enquiries.

You may currently be working in internal technical sales or perhaps in an external sales position and looking to return to a more office-based role.

Ideally, you'll bring:

*

Proven technical sales experience within industrial electrical distribution, automation or control panel components.

*

Strong product knowledge across switchgear, motor control, contactors, overloads and industrial automation equipment.

*

Familiarity with manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, ABB, Weidmüller or similar brands.

*

Established industry contacts, particularly with systems integrators, panel builders or industrial customers.

*

A proven ability to identify commercial opportunities, generate new business and develop customer accounts.

*

Strong communication skills, technical credibility and a proactive, self-motivated approach.

We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced sales professionals who have developed a strong reputation and customer following and would welcome the opportunity to use that experience to make a genuine impact on a growing business.

What's on Offer

*

£35,000–£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience.

*

Annual profit share scheme offering attractive additional earning potential.

*

Monday–Friday working hours, 8am–5pm.

*

The opportunity to take ownership of a developing product area and play an important role in its growth.

*

Considerable autonomy, supported by an established team and the resources of a successful technical distributor.

*

The opportunity to develop business through an existing customer base while establishing new relationships within the industrial electrical market.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the commercial side of technical sales and wants more than simply managing an existing order book.

If you've developed a strong network within industrial electrical distribution and would welcome the opportunity to use your experience to help grow a business, we'd be keen to hear from you.
