Inventory Control Clerk

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Clerk to join their retail operations in Edinburgh . This role is fundamental to maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring the efficient flow of merchandise within the distribution and retail environment. You will be responsible for monitoring stock, conducting regular audits, and implementing procedures to minimize discrepancies and prevent loss. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to managing warehouse and stockroom operations, contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
• Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory shipments.
• Manage stockroom organization and ensure efficient storage and retrieval of merchandise.
• Generate inventory reports and assist in forecasting stock needs.
• Implement and adhere to inventory control policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role within a retail or warehouse setting.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and scanning equipment.
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with inventory handling.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
