Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role

Our client seeks a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join their busy warehouse operations in Cardiff . This role is pivotal in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of stock levels, ensuring that inventory data is precise and up-to-date. You will be responsible for conducting regular stock checks, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimise stock loss and optimise storage efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to managing critical inventory data.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of stock records.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
• Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
• Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to ensure product freshness and minimise obsolescence.
• Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements, including receipts, issues, and transfers.
• Collaborate with the operations team to identify and address root causes of inventory issues.

Requirements

• Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or a similar role.
• Demonstrable understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with colleagues.
