Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join their operations team based in Sunderland . This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, ensuring that stock levels are optimized to meet demand while minimizing holding costs and preventing stockouts or overstock situations. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and utilizing warehouse management systems to maintain precise data. This is an on-site position requiring physical presence to oversee stock management directly.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records across all warehouse locations.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock counts.
• Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to ensure adequate stock levels and fulfill orders efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience in inventory control , stock management, or a similar warehousing role.
• Proficiency with inventory management software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Strong understanding of inventory principles, including cycle counting and stocktaking.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Ability to perform physical inventory checks and handle warehouse environments.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
