About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Investment Banking Associate to join their bustling office in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for supporting deal execution, financial modelling, and client advisory services within the M&A and capital markets sectors. You will work closely with senior bankers on complex transactions, contributing to all phases from origination to closing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude, a rigorous work ethic, and a keen understanding of financial markets, thriving in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment synonymous with investment banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising transactions.
- Develop intricate financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), LBO, and accretion/dilution analyses.
- Prepare client-facing materials such as pitch books, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), and management presentations.
- Conduct comprehensive industry research and financial due diligence for potential transactions.
- Support client relationship management and business development efforts.
- Work collaboratively within deal teams to ensure successful transaction completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, or private equity.
- Exceptional financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of capital markets and corporate finance principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
