IT & Telecoms Field Engineer

Tired of being an engineer who just turns up and plugs everything in?

Would you prefer a role where you're trusted to configure systems, solve technical problems and see customer projects through from start to finish?

We're working with an established and growing IT and telecoms provider offering the opportunity to work across a genuinely varied range of technologies, customers and installations.

This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys taking ownership, developing their expertise and having a visible impact within a smaller, supportive business.

Why consider this opportunity?

*

Salary of £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience

*

Company van for business use

*

Exposure to both IT infrastructure and business telecoms

*

Varied customer projects rather than repetitive installations

*

Opportunity to broaden your Microsoft cloud, networking and VoIP experience

*

23 days' holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 after two years

*

Pension scheme with 3% employer contribution

*

Death-in-service benefit after one year's service

*

Free parking

What you'll be doing

Working across Dorset and surrounding counties, you'll support business customers with IT and telecoms installations and infrastructure projects.

Your work will include:

*

Configuring and installing VoIP telephone systems

*

Setting up networking equipment, Wi-Fi and business IT solutions

*

Supporting Microsoft 365 and cloud-based environments

*

Diagnosing and resolving technical problems on customer sites

*

Planning installations, preparing equipment and coordinating with customers

*

Completing project documentation and handovers

You'll typically spend three to four days a week visiting customer sites, with the remaining time focused on preparation, planning and technical administration.

What we're looking for

You'll already have commercial experience in IT infrastructure, business telecoms or a combination of both.

Experience configuring VoIP telephone systems would be particularly valuable, alongside knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud services or business networking.

You should also be comfortable working independently, communicating with customers and troubleshooting technical issues.

You don't need experience with every product or manufacturer. Transferable technical knowledge and a willingness to learn are just as important.

A full UK driving licence is required.

If you're looking for more variety, responsibility and the opportunity to develop across multiple technologies please get in touch
