Junior Account Manager - Fresh Produce

A grocery account role where you won't just run the reports. You'll own the numbers, and the story behind them that shapes how a major retail account grows.

Junior Account Manager - Fresh Produce

Lincolnshire Mainly office-based: 4 days office / 1 from home, or 3 office / 1 in store / 1 from home £35,000-£40,000 + up to 10% bonus + benefits Permanent

The Opportunity

We're supporting a well-established fresh produce business with the appointment of a Junior Account Manager that looks after a high-profile UK grocery retail account.

This isn't an admin-heavy support role. Alongside the day-to-day running of the account, the business wants someone to own the data: one version of the truth on sales, margin and forecast, gap analysis, and the story behind the numbers that informs short, medium and long-term account strategy.

You'll work closely with the customer and with growers, procurement, planning, technical and operations, with regular visits to growers, packhouses and stores.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day management of the account, including orders, forecasts and customer-facing supply updates. Maintain pricing records and monitor weekly sales and margin trackers against customer forecasts. Analyse sales and market data to build gap analysis and identify opportunities and risks. Turn data into clear insight and presentations for customer meetings, category reviews and account plans. Work with procurement, planning and technical teams to protect availability, service and waste. Support store visits and audits, new product introductions and range development.

What We're Looking For

Ideally you'll come from fresh produce in a customer-facing commercial or account role. Food, FMCG or agriculture backgrounds selling into or supplying UK grocery retailers are relevant too, as is a supply-side role where you've seen the commercial side of a retailer relationship up close.

What matters most is commercial acumen and a strong head for numbers. You'll need to be confident in Excel and comfortable turning data into a story, with the communication skills to hold your own with a demanding retail customer.

Early-career candidates with the right analytical ability and attitude will be considered alongside those with more experience.

Why Join?

This is a role built for growth. There's a clear path to Account Manager and on into commercial leadership, and the expectation is that the right person develops quickly in their first 12 months.

There's real scope to make it your own. The data and insight work you build will directly inform how the account is run, with the Head of Sales backing your recommendations.

You'll also get exposure that's hard to find this early in a career: a high-profile retail customer, growers, category reviews and the full fresh produce supply chain, with a package of £35,000-£40,000 plus up to 10% bonus and benefits.
