Junior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Accountant to join their growing finance team in Sunderland . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an individual eager to build a career in accounting, providing essential support in daily accounting tasks and financial administration. You will gain valuable hands-on experience across various accounting functions under the guidance of experienced professionals, contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Process purchase invoices and prepare payment runs.
• Reconcile bank statements and supplier statements.
• Support the accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
• Help with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks.

Requirements

• AAT qualification or equivalent accounting knowledge/experience.
• Some prior experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software and good Excel skills.
• A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Strong desire to learn and develop accounting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
