Junior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and eager-to-learn Junior Accountant to join their finance department, supporting operations across the UK from a remote position. You will gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including assisting with bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end close procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
• Support bookkeeping activities, including data entry for ledgers and journals.
• Help with the reconciliation of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
• Support the management accounting team with data gathering and analysis.
• Learn and apply company accounting policies and procedures to daily tasks.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
