About the Role
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer to contribute to their innovative product development team in Manchester . This role offers a blend of remote flexibility and on-site collaboration, focusing on the research, development, and scale-up of new chemical products. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and scientists, gaining hands-on experience in laboratory work, process design, and pilot plant operations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate passionate about creating novel chemical solutions and driving them from concept to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and execution of laboratory experiments to test new chemical formulations and processes.
- Support the scale-up of laboratory processes to pilot plant and commercial scale.
- Conduct literature reviews and research to identify new technologies and methodologies.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to troubleshoot development challenges and optimize product performance.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
Requirements
- BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience, ideally including internships or co-op placements in R&D or process development.
- Basic understanding of chemical principles, reaction kinetics, and separation techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation.
- Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills in product development.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
