About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Forestry Surveyor to join their team in Sheffield . You will assist senior surveyors in conducting forest inventories, mapping forest boundaries, and assessing timber volumes. Working primarily outdoors in various forest environments, you will gain practical experience in forest mensuration, data collection, and environmental assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior surveyors in conducting field surveys of forest areas, including measuring tree dimensions and assessing forest health.
• Collect and record accurate data on tree species, diameter, height, and site conditions using survey equipment and mobile apps.
• Help maintain forest inventory databases and update maps based on survey findings.
• Participate in site assessments for potential timber harvesting or reforestation projects.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols while working in field environments.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Forestry, Forest Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of forestry principles and surveying techniques.
• Familiarity with measuring tools and a willingness to learn new technologies.
