About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior Sous Chef to join the acclaimed kitchen brigade of a highly-rated restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh . This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef looking to develop their skills in a fine-dining setting and contribute to the creation of exceptional culinary experiences. You will work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, gaining exposure to advanced techniques and high-pressure service, while playing a vital role in maintaining the restaurant's stellar reputation and commitment to culinary innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and execution of daily service, ensuring all dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Support the Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and waste management.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and specials, showcasing creativity and understanding of seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain impeccable food hygiene and safety standards across all kitchen areas.
- Supervise and mentor Commis Chefs and apprentices, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Ensure efficient operation of your designated section during service.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Senior Commis Chef in a reputable restaurant.
- A strong foundation in classical cooking techniques and a passion for modern cuisine.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Eagerness to learn, develop culinary skills, and contribute positively to the team.
