Landscape Gardener

About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and skilled Landscape Gardener to join their dynamic team, contributing to the creation and maintenance of beautiful outdoor spaces in and around Bradford . This role involves a wide range of gardening duties, from routine maintenance of established gardens to assisting in the implementation of new landscape designs. You will be working outdoors in various weather conditions, requiring a good level of physical fitness and a keen eye for detail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on horticultural work and takes pride in transforming and maintaining outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular garden maintenance tasks, including mowing, strimming, weeding, planting, pruning, and hedge cutting.
• Assist with the installation of new landscaping features, such as patios, pathways, fencing, and water features.
• Prepare soil, plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns according to designs and seasonal requirements.
• Operate and maintain garden machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Watering and feeding plants as necessary, applying appropriate treatments for pests and diseases.
• Contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal and health of gardens and green spaces within the West Yorkshire area.

Requirements

• Previous experience in professional gardening or landscape maintenance.
• A good working knowledge of plants, soil types, and common gardening techniques.
• Ability to operate common garden machinery (mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers).
• Physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor tasks.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a garden environment.
