Lead 3D Animator

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and visionary Lead 3D Animator to spearhead animation efforts for groundbreaking projects in Birmingham . This leadership role requires a blend of artistic talent, technical proficiency, and strong mentoring capabilities to guide a team of animators in creating compelling character performances and dynamic motion graphics. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the creation of high-quality 3D character and environmental animation from concept to completion.
• Develop and refine animation pipelines, tools, and workflows to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Mentor, train, and provide constructive feedback to junior and senior animators.
• Collaborate closely with art directors, game designers, and technical artists to achieve the desired artistic vision.
• Ensure animation adheres to technical constraints and project deadlines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex animation challenges and technical issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in 3D animation, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Demonstrable expertise in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, weight, and appeal.
• Experience with motion capture data cleanup and integration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A compelling demo reel showcasing a high level of artistic skill and technical execution in Birmingham projects.
