About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Lead 5G Network Engineer to spearhead advancements in their next-generation mobile network infrastructure in Manchester . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and integration of 5G core network elements and associated RAN infrastructure.
• Manage and mentor a team of 5G network engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Develop strategies for network optimization, capacity planning, and performance enhancement for 5G services.
• Oversee the troubleshooting of complex network issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal service disruption.
• Collaborate with product development teams to ensure new services are compatible with the 5G network architecture.
• Stay abreast of emerging 5G technologies, standards, and industry trends, advising on future roadmap development.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mobile network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on 5G technologies .
• Deep understanding of 5G architecture (NSA/SA), core network functions (AMF, SMF, UPF), and RAN principles.
• Proven experience with network virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in complex, high-pressure environments in Manchester .
