About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Air Traffic Controller to oversee operations at a busy regional airport. This critical role involves managing a team of air traffic controllers, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of air traffic, and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. You will be responsible for implementing control procedures, training new controllers, and acting as a key liaison with pilots, airlines, and aviation authorities. Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the activities of air traffic control personnel to ensure the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic.
- Develop and implement air traffic control procedures and protocols, ensuring compliance with national and international aviation regulations.
- Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations for air traffic controllers, fostering professional development.
- Monitor weather conditions and airport operations, making critical decisions to manage airspace effectively and prevent conflicts.
- Collaborate with airport management, airlines, and emergency services to coordinate responses to incidents or disruptions.
- Maintain detailed records of air traffic movements, incidents, and operational performance.
Requirements
- Current and valid Air Traffic Controller license and relevant ratings.
- Significant experience (minimum 7 years) in air traffic control, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Deep understanding of aviation law, air navigation, and radar control procedures.
- Proven ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under extreme pressure.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
- Proficiency in using modern air traffic control systems and simulation tools.
