Lead Animator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and inspiring Lead Animator to guide their animation team. You will be responsible for overseeing the creation of high-quality character and environment animations that bring our projects to life. This role involves a blend of hands-on animation work and team leadership, ensuring that the animation quality meets the highest standards. You will work closely with the art director and game designers to translate creative vision into stunning visual motion. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to collaborate in person while retaining flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of animators, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
• Create high-quality character and creature animations, ensuring believable movement and performance.
• Develop and implement animation systems and pipelines, optimizing for performance and workflow.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure animation quality and consistency across the project.
• Review and approve animation assets, ensuring they meet project requirements and artistic vision.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as an Animator , with a proven track record in a lead or senior role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in character animation, rigging, and motion capture cleanup.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender).
• Deep understanding of animation principles, timing, weight, and visual storytelling.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
