About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Lead Architect to spearhead design initiatives from their offices in Newcastle upon Tyne . This pivotal role involves taking ownership of design strategy, mentoring a talented team, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional architectural solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be at the forefront of design innovation, working on projects that significantly shape the urban landscape of Tyne and Wear and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned architect to assume a leadership position, influence design direction, and foster a culture of creativity and technical excellence within a respected firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the architectural design process for large-scale commercial and residential projects.
- Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that meet client objectives and exceed industry standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of architects and designers, providing technical guidance and design critique.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and compliance.
- Prepare and present design proposals, feasibility studies, and project documentation.
- Oversee the quality and technical accuracy of all design outputs and construction documentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in architectural practice, with significant leadership experience.
- Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent, with full professional accreditation (RIBA or equivalent).
- Expertise in BIM software (Revit) and advanced CAD applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK planning law, building regulations, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and client relationships effectively.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and team leadership skills.
