Lead Athletic Trainer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Athletic Trainer to join their team in Birmingham . You will be responsible for overseeing the athletic training program, providing high-quality care to athletes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices within the Leisure & Sports industry. This role requires a blend of clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for athlete well-being. You will work closely with coaches, sports scientists, and medical professionals to promote injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, fostering a culture of safety and peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment plans for athletes.
• Supervise and mentor junior athletic trainers and support staff, ensuring high standards of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage athlete rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to ethical and legal guidelines.
• Manage inventory of athletic training supplies and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in sports medicine and athletic training techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) and eligibility for state licensure in Birmingham .
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in athletic training, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of sports injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and therapeutic modalities.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
