About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Diagnostic Engineer to spearhead their diagnostic development efforts based in their facility in Sunderland . This pivotal role involves leading a team of engineers to design, develop, and implement advanced diagnostic solutions for automotive systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring the maintainability and serviceability of complex vehicle architectures, working closely with design and validation teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of diagnostic engineers in the design and development of diagnostic software and tools for vehicle systems.
• Define diagnostic strategies and requirements in alignment with product development roadmaps and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain diagnostic specifications, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Oversee the implementation and validation of diagnostic features across various vehicle platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and service departments, to ensure effective diagnostic solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience in automotive diagnostics, including development and application.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing projects.
• Strong understanding of vehicle communication networks (e.g., CAN, UDS) and diagnostic protocols.
• Experience with diagnostic tool development and embedded software.
