About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Automotive Diagnostic Engineer to spearhead diagnostic efforts within their state-of-the-art facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves leading a team of technicians in the investigation and resolution of complex vehicle faults, particularly those related to advanced electronic and powertrain systems. You will be instrumental in developing new diagnostic procedures and training materials, ensuring the highest levels of technical expertise are maintained. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the diagnosis and repair of complex vehicle issues, specializing in electronic control units, engine management systems, and ADAS.
• Develop and implement new diagnostic protocols and troubleshooting guides for emerging vehicle technologies.
• Train and mentor a team of automotive technicians, enhancing their diagnostic capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and parts suppliers to resolve persistent or unique vehicle faults.
• Oversee the efficient use of diagnostic equipment and software, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
• Maintain a keen awareness of industry advancements and incorporate relevant new technologies into workshop practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Engineer or Master Technician with a focus on diagnostics.
• Advanced certifications in automotive electronics, engine management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a passion for technical training.
• Expertise in using a wide range of OE-level diagnostic tools and programming software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a methodical approach to fault finding.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and training purposes.
