About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Lead Automotive Embedded Software Developer to join their fully remote development team. This role is central to designing, developing, and deploying embedded software for critical automotive functions, including vehicle control, safety systems, and connectivity modules. You will lead a team of talented engineers, driving best practices in software development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and efficient embedded solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers in the design, development, and testing of software for automotive ECUs and microcontrollers.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, real-time embedded software using C/C++, adhering to strict coding standards and automotive safety requirements.
- Collaborate with system architects and hardware engineers to define software requirements, architectures, and interfaces for new automotive features.
- Implement robust testing and debugging strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, to ensure software reliability.
- Drive process improvements in software development, deployment, and lifecycle management within the remote team environment, contributing to the advancement of automotive software engineering .
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in embedded software development, with at least 3 years in the automotive industry .
- Proven experience in leading software development teams and managing project timelines.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and embedded debugging tools.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, UDS) and safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
