Lead Bioinformatician - Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Bioinformatician to spearhead their Drug Discovery initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of bioinformatic pipelines for analyzing high-throughput screening data, omics data, and clinical data.
• Design and execute computational strategies to identify and prioritize potential drug candidates.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to integrate multi-modal data and inform project strategy.
• Manage and mentor a team of bioinformaticians, fostering a collaborative and productive remote work environment.
• Oversee the maintenance and development of the company's bioinformatics infrastructure and databases.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, computational biology, and drug discovery.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in bioinformatics, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role, ideally within drug discovery .
• Extensive experience with programming languages (Python, R) and bioinformatics software/databases.
• Proven expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining applied to biological data.
• Experience with cloud computing environments and managing large datasets.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills suited for a remote leadership position.
