Lead Bioinformatician - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Bioinformatician to spearhead their computational biology efforts. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to innovative research from anywhere. You will be instrumental in developing and applying cutting-edge bioinformatics pipelines and analytical strategies to large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for next-generation sequencing data analysis.
• Develop and apply advanced statistical and machine learning methods for biological data interpretation.
• Lead and mentor a team of bioinformaticians and computational biologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to define research questions and deliver actionable insights.
• Manage computational resources, ensure data integrity, and maintain robust documentation for all analytical processes.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in bioinformatics, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Strong expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and shell scripting.
• Proven experience with large-scale genomic data analysis (e.g., WGS, WES, RNA-Seq) and associated tools.
• Excellent understanding of statistical genetics, machine learning, and database management.
