About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Bioinformatician to spearhead their computational biology efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of scalable bioinformatics pipelines for diverse biological datasets.
- Manage and mentor a team of bioinformaticians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Collaborate with researchers to define analytical strategies, interpret results, and generate actionable insights.
- Implement machine learning algorithms and statistical models for biological data analysis and prediction.
- Ensure data integrity, quality control, and robust documentation of all analytical processes.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and computational biology.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and experience with high-performance computing environments.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
