Lead Chemical Engineer - Process Optimization

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Chemical Engineer focused on Process Optimization to join their innovative team in Cambridge . This role is integral to enhancing the efficiency, yield, and sustainability of our chemical manufacturing processes. You will spearhead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, leveraging advanced analytical techniques and engineering principles to solve complex operational challenges. Working on-site, you will collaborate closely with production, R&D, and engineering departments, driving tangible improvements and fostering a culture of operational excellence within a cutting-edge environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of process optimization strategies across manufacturing sites.
• Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement in yield, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot trials for new optimization technologies and methodologies.
• Develop and maintain process models and simulation tools to support optimization efforts.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to process engineers and operational teams.
• Ensure all optimization projects align with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on optimization and continuous improvement.
• Proven expertise in process simulation, data analysis, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and unit operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
