Lead Chemical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead product development initiatives in Manchester . This role is crucial for translating innovative chemical concepts into market-ready products. You will lead a team of engineers and scientists, guiding them through the entire product lifecycle, from initial research and feasibility studies to process design, optimization, and full-scale manufacturing. Working on-site, you will collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, and operations teams to ensure the successful launch of new chemical formulations and materials. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of chemical engineers and scientists focused on new product development.
• Oversee the design, development, and scale-up of chemical processes for novel products.
• Conduct rigorous feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new product ventures.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product specifications and ensure alignment with market needs.
• Ensure all development activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical product development, process engineering, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of successfully bringing new chemical products to market.
• Strong knowledge of chemical synthesis, formulation, and scale-up principles.
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
